Wonderwheel is a side project for Øyvind Holm (Deleted Waveform Gatherings) and Ulf Risnes (Tre Små Kinesere, U.R.O), both from Trondheim, Norway. The duo have created a pop harmonic sound not unlike a poppier Grizzly Bear.
“The Day I Fell To Earth” was playlisted on Norwegian National Radio, and soon after an album was planned for release on Rainbow Quartz International.
We at the label are reminded of a broad spectrum of perfect pop as created by the likes of Crowded House, Ryan Adams, Paul McCartney and Paul Simon with a breezy likeness at times to such paragons of the past few decades as Seals & Crofts, Little River Band and Loggins & Messina and yet the first track has the cutting-edge avante-garde feel of Another Green World-era Brian Eno... and even Bowie from his “Sound and Vision” days. This album is a masterpiece of top quality pop songcraft.
